Welcome Dr. Joetta Basile – Mingo County’s New Superintendent
Dr. Joetta Basile was officially sworn in today as the new Superintendent of Mingo County Schools. She will begin her new role on July 1, 2025.
Dr. Basile comes to Mingo County with 13 years of experience as Superintendent of Monroe County Schools. Before that, she worked in the central office there as a director. She holds two master’s degrees and a doctorate from Concord University, Marshall University, and Liberty University.
“I’ve always been very focused on what’s best for students and children,” Dr. Basile shared. “I’m a mom myself—I have two grown sons—and every decision I make is guided by what’s best for kids. If we keep that mindset here in Mingo County, good things will follow for our students.”
We’re excited to welcome Dr. Basile to the Mingo County Schools family and look forward to the leadership and care she brings to our community!
